About me
I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanics and Engineering Science (and also the Center for Applied Physics and Technology), Peking University. I am also a member of the State Key Laboratory for Turbulence and Complex Systems.
My research centers on high-fidelity numerical simulation of turbulence and machine-learning / data-driven turbulence modeling. My group studies wall-bounded turbulence and laminar–turbulent transition, turbomachinery and aero-engine internal flows, and interfacial instability and mixing, leveraging GPU heterogeneous computing and modern machine learning to push the fidelity, efficiency, and generality of turbulence simulation and modeling.
Education and experience
I received my B.S. in Physics (Yuanpei College) and my Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from Peking University. Before joining Peking University in 2020 as an assistant professor, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
I lead an active research group of graduate students working on turbulence simulation and modeling. You can find my articles on my Google Scholar profile. You can also find my group page in Chinese — Yaomin Zhao Research Group (Chinese).
